Description

A Proven Technique

Percutaneous dilation tracheostomy has established itself as a standard procedure in intensive medicine. The Ciaglia technique is the one most widely used. The TRACOE experc system is based on this proven method. The sets are tailored to the use of unfenestrated and fenestrated tubes as well as tubes with subglottic suction line of the product groups TRACOE twist, incl. TRACOE twist plus, and TRACOE vario (not fenestrated).

The Feature

How to slide the tube over the insertion instrument into the tracheostoma has always been a major challenge in PDT – one that has never been satisfactorily met. Until now: the TRACOE experc sets deliver the solution in form of the patented atraumatic inserter and the atraumatic insertion system. A soft silicone sleeve at its tip smoothly bridges the gap in diameter between the inserter and the tube. This lets the tube be inserted safely and easily.

Module System

By now there are 14 different TRACOE tracheostomy tubes with atraumatic insertion system of the product groups TRACOE twist incl. twist plus and vario. 6 are with subglottic suction line. 4 of the TRACOE twist plus tubes are available in size 10 as well. Therefore the TRACOE experc Sets can be combined with the tracheostomy tube most suitable for the patient.

Colour Coding

This is a poor example, here the code tells us virtually nothing. The 312 is better GREEN packaging identifies the TRACOE twist plus product family. A further colour, such as BLUE with a "+" sign in the example, indicates a cannula type, here the REF 312. The + helps differentiate between the two twist families. This colour coding represents the cannula's special characteristics. You can see all colour codes and their meanings below.

The families/types can be sorted according to these colours. The size of the cannula is indicated at the end of the REF number, for example REF 312-08 for the size 8 mm.

The colour coding makes stock keeping easier.
